Hatchet Mellark || Vampire || 89 || Straight ||
Hatchet, or Hatch as he prefers to be called, is a trouble maker. He doesn’t listen to authority and doesn’t care about what anyone has to say. Hatchet is not from Sunnybrooke, he’s actually from a small village in Germany but fled to America a few years after the Nazis invaded Poland, so he doesn’t like bullies.

Katie smiled after his kiss, getting the chills. She clung to his shirt as he said the last four words. “Good.” She sighed out. She had been so worried there had been such a weight on her shoulders. It was like the world had been crushing her and now it was like she was floating.

“I’m just happy I’m still yours.” A year ago she would have staked claim in Hatch like her was her property. But she had learned something in the year they’d spent together. She didn’t need him to be hers. She needed to be his. She sat down on the couch and waited for him to come back with her blanket.

Hatch came back with a blanket and wrapped it around her shoulders. He sat down next to her. “Do you need anything else?” He asked wrapping his arm around her. “I could make you something warm to drink…” He thought for a moment, trying to remember if he had any real food around the house.

Katie kept her tight grip on him. She never wanted to let go of him again. She didn’t even feel the cold. All she could feel was Hatch. He was all she cared about. But as he pulled she followed. “I’m fine.” She said quietly looking up at him taking him in like she had spent centuries away from him.

“I am so sorry.” She said again not taking her eyes off him as they stepped inside. “It’s never going to happen again.” She sighed out the words. She didn’t know what else to say to him. Sh had missed him so much and had imagined all the things she could say to him when she returned but she couldn’t remember any of the rehearsed conversations she had staged. And she didn’t want to. “I love you Hatch.” Was all she could manage out. The only worlds that made sense to her in the moment.

Hatch kept his arms tightly around her even though they were safely in the house. He shushed her, kissing her lips gently. “I forgive you, Katie.” He kept her close to his chest still having that feeling that she’d disappear again and never come back. “I love you, Katie.” he said resting his head on her shoulder.

“I’m just happy you’re safe.” He whispered leading her over to his couch and sat her down. “Stay right here… I’m going to get you a blanket.”

Katie could barely see. The rain was getting the best of her and her eyes might have been filling with tears. She tired to take a deep breath as she walked away. But she ran head long into someone. A very familiar someone.

Katie looked up as she heard her name. Her heart soared as she made eye contact. She wrapped her arms around him trying to keep the tears in. “I’m so sorry.” She repeated over and over with her face buried in his shoulder.

Hatchet held his girlfriend as close as he could, fearing she’d disappear again. He shook his head pulling away and cupping her face to make sure she was really there. He stroked her hair shushing her as she apologized over and over again. At this point he really didn’t care. She was back and that’s all that really mattered at the moment.

“Katie, where have you be-, It doesn’t matter.” He grabbed her hand. “Let’s go get you dried off.” He said pulling back to his house. “You must be freezing!”

Katie looked herself over in the mirror. Her hair had gotten long and her makeup almost unnoticeable. She bit her lip as she picked up her umbrella. She had just finished talking with Em and she needed to see Hatch. This infernal rain wasn’t going to stop her. She wasn’t going to let anything stop her from seeing her love. Even if he didn’t love her anymore. She need to see him.

She descended the stairs and disappeared out the door. She opened her sturdy umbrella and took off to the vampire neighborhood. Butterflies attacked her chest and stomach. She couldn’t get them to calm down. She had been with Hatch almost a year and she still felt these butterflies.

Hatch’s house came in to her view and she stopped for a moment. Could she really do this? She asked herself. She shook her hair to clear it and continued. She reached his door and reached her hand out to knock but pulled it back.

She stared at the door. She was soaked. She didn’t know when but she had let her umbrella fall down. Her hair was drenched, as were her clothes and shoes. She felt tears well up in her eyes. She had been such a bad girl friend. She knocked on the door after mustering up all of her courage.

But before he could answer she turned away. He probably wasn’t even in Sunnybrooke anymore. She told herself as she walked away from his house slowly as she wrapped her arms around herself.

Hatch thanked the woman behind the counter at the blood bank and promptly left with his supplies. The rain had begun to pour down harder than before. The vampire just sighed, pulled up his hood and kept his head down as he walked.

As he approached his house he bumped into someone, the rain obscuring his vision and to be honest he wasn’t really paying attention to the things going on around him. He lifted his head looking at the person he had bumped into.

“Katie?” Hatchet was shocked, he hadn’t seen his girlfriend in what felt like years. He wrapped his arms around the faerie letting her into a tight hug.

No, thank you. Without your skills, we wouldn’t of gotten past that boss battle. -chuckles-

My skills aren’t that good… Trust me. You did most of the work.
